Carriage House Conversion

Den:

Carriage House ConversationThe tack room, which is now the master bedroom suite, retains its original tin ceiling and crown moldings, curved windows and louvered shutters. The stable area is converted into a spacious, state of the art kitchen, with piano shaped island. The most unusual feature is one of the original horse stables, which has been converted to a compact home office. Many of the original architectural features of the carriage house, including original chestnut columns, and rolling barn door were incorporated into the renovation, and now serve as unique and original decorative elements. But the most fascinating feature now rests proudly above the living room fireplace. It is a granite lintel, found buried beneath a dirt basement floor during the renovation. It reads "Happiness lingers by the fireside."
